As a chiropractic therapy practice, we see how poor posture affects clients on a daily basis. We are continuing our series on the consequences of poor posture.  Our previous article discussed how poor posture can help fuel and accelerate degenerative disc disease, cause rounded shoulders, and misalign your spine, all of which lead to problems such as limited range of motion and chronic pain. Today, we will look at more reasons why poor posture is bad for your overall health.

Poor Circulation

Bad posture can lead to issues with circulation. This is especially true if you sit in a chair or at a desk every day in a poor posture position. Your chiropractor and chiropractic care team can make recommendations of how to ensure your chair at your desk is the proper height and how to actively practice good posture while seated.

Back, Neck, and Shoulder Pain

Poor posture causes muscle tension, and muscle tension results in back, neck, and shoulder pain. Fortunately, chiropractic massage can ease muscle tension.  Your chiropractic care team will show you some exercises you can do to help improve your posture, thus reducing muscle tension.

Breathing Issues

Poor posture can affect your capacity to breathe in air, which can lead to shortness of breath and numerous other problems.
