Why Does My Back Hurt?

Back pain is one of the most common complaints that drives people to seek help from a pain relief center.  At Riverbend Chiropractic, our chiropractor gets to the root of your pain then develops a customized treatment plan to address it. Some of the most common treatments for back pain include chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and spinal disc compression therapy.

So, exactly what is causing your back pain? Only a back pain doctor can get to the root of your problem, but we can offer some general thoughts. Our next series of articles will cover some of the most common culprits of back pain. Let’s take a look:

Posture

Posture plays a significant role in back pain.  Maintaining good posture can be challenging as it is tempting to slouch when using our computers, watching television and even when performing daily tasks. As a back pain doctor, we work with our patients on developing good posture techniques designed to reduce muscle strain and promote healing.

Injury

Any injury – including ones that happened in the past – can cause problems today if the injury was not treated and/or had the opportunity to properly heal.  Some of the most common culprits we see at our pain relief center are sports injuries, car accidents and slip and falls.

Stress

Stress causes muscles to tense and tighten, which often results in chronic back pain.  Chiropractic care including adjustments and massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension caused by chronic stress.

Our next article will discuss more reasons why you may be experiencing back pain.  Riverbend Chiropractic is a premier pain relief center spearheaded by Dr. Adam W.
